Wastegate Actuator Rod Rattle

The rattle is caused by the wastegate actuator rod rubbing back and forth on the wastegate and can be quite annoying.

I had a small rattle at about 2000 rpm and traced it to the turbo actuator rod. This rattle can occur on start up while idle or while accelerating from 1800 3000rpms. Unfortunately this is just a manufacturing fault. Wastegate actuator rod rattle solved 06 24 2011 03 29 pm 74.

I have the 2010 jetta wolfsburg. Just got a call from vw today saying they have a fix. I adjusted it counting the of turns and got the slack out. After 1 year this is finally going to be fixed and no more rattle for us all.

Apparently it is the clip they will be installing. Hi i am wondering if anyone here has knowlege on the wastegate actuator rod. Boost pressure is applied to the canister and once the boost is higher than the spring pressure inside the canister the wastegate actuator rod starts to move and open the wastegate. So i adjusted it back.

Now as the tsb above states vw only covers 2008 2010 mk6 gtis. The bulletin 21 10 01.
